Grant for the renovation of a facility for the elderly
Non-profit organization Debra, n.o. - Facility for the elderly in the municipality of Rovné was established in March 2020 for the purpose of providing social services for persons of retirement age and for persons dependent on the assistance of another natural person.
The problem
Debra n.o. wanted to start providing innovative community-type social services in the village of Rovné, as such social services were absent in the locality. P. Panocová, the director of the NGO, also wanted to create an atmosphere of a home-like environment for the clients of the facility, where they would live an active, joyful and full life.
Goal
The aim of the project was to create conditions (both spatial and material) for the creation of a community-based facility for the elderly in the village of Rovné.
Duration / Course
In December 2021 an application for NFP was submitted to the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic. In October 2022, the project was approved, construction works were completed in November 2023. The opening ceremony and dedication of the facility for the elderly took place in August 2024.
Result
The project resulted in a new and innovative facility for the elderly with a capacity of 12 places. This community-based facility is designed for people of retirement age who need the help of another person due to a high degree of dependency (IV.-VI.) or for other serious reasons require the provision of social services. The facility not only offers a safe and comfortable space for seniors, but also promotes community building and social ties, thus contributing to their active and dignified life.
