CASE STUDY
Energy cost savings at ES3T Metal, s. r. o.
The company ES3T Metal, s. r. o. deals with powder coating within its production activity. After the powder is applied to the metal, the energy-intensive process of firing takes place in electric furnaces that are in operation during every working day, 8 hours a day. Electricity is also consumed by other equipment in the factory.
The problem
The company's high dependence on external electricity suppliers was a problem that had become particularly worrying in the wake of the energy crisis and rising energy prices in early 2023. The company needed to find a sustainable solution that would enable it to generate its own electricity from renewable sources and thereby significantly reduce energy costs.
Goal
The main objective of the project was to reduce electricity costs, minimise the negative impact on the environment and promote the sustainability of the company by switching to a renewable energy source through the construction of a solar power generation facility.
Duration / Duration
Project implementation began in May 2023, when a purchase order was issued to the contractor. The PV equipment was subsequently taken over from the supplier in September 2023.
Result
The implementation of the project contributed to the recovery of the consequences of the energy crisis and the increase in energy prices for ES3T Metal, s. r. o. and at the same time enabled the use of renewable energy sources, through which the company produces electricity for its own consumption with almost zero operating costs.
